What is a HUD home?

A foreclosed home that is owned by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Most HUD foreclosures were loans made by a lending institution, such as a bank or mortgage company, and insured by FHA (Federal Housing Administration), a branch of HUD.  If it becomes necessary for the lender to foreclose on the home, then HUD will pay off the lender and take possession of the home.  HUD will have the home appraised and then put it up for sale on the open market.  The only way to buy a HUD home, is to place bids online through a HUD-registered real estate broker.  Since HUD tries to promote home ownership, it will first give preference to buyers who will occupy the home.  If no acceptable bids are received by owner-occupants, then investors may bid on the home.  HUD homes may be viewed online at www.bidselect.com, or you can narrow your search by selecting one of the links below.

And, don't forget, we are registered with HUD to show you and bid on any HUD property.  So please give us a call
